Public walking tours for individuals and families

We offer free walking tours of the campus almost every day of the year, rain or shine. Our expert guides are student ambassadors who know the university and student life. Applying to Berkeley? History buff? Nostalgic alum? A campus tour is perfect for you.

These walking tours are for individuals, families, and parties of up to 9 people. If you are a school group or organization, a party of 10 people or more, or you’re interested in a private tour for a fee, please visit the Special Group/Private Tour Page for more information.

Tours are offered seven days a week and leave at 10am from the Koret Visitor Center at 2227 Piedmont Avenue, in the historic California Memorial Stadium EXCEPT for the tours on Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7. On these 2 days, the tours will start at the Campanile, the tall clock tower in the middle of campus. Tours require an online reservation

Campus tours are offered on most major holidays with the following exceptions:

  • Saturday, December 23, 2017 – Monday, January 2, 2018 (Winter Break)

The online calendar includes several kinds of tours. Please review the name of the tour before reserving to ensure you are reserving the correct tour. Tours for newly admitted students are only for those (and their families) who have received a notice of acceptance to Berkeley or have been given the option to be on the waitlist.

Admissions Presentation

If you would like to attend an admissions presentation in addition to a campus tour, please note that separate reservations are required. Visit the admissions office reservation system to book an admissions presentation.
