Special Group and Private Tours

Advance tour reservations are required for parties of 10 or more (including school groups) and any visitors who prefer a private tour. School group tours are offered for grades 6 and above.

Special group/private tour reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance.

  • 100+ people: Please contact the Tour Coordinator at (510) 642-5216.

What’s a Special Group?

A special group is any party of 10 or more people. This can include a large family, school group (grades 6th and up only), private tour company, non-profit group, or any group of 10 or more people. If you are a party of less than 10 people and want a private tour with no other visitors, you can also book a Special Group Tour for a fee. We are unable to accommodate school groups that are 5th grade or below; please see our Cal Kids Scavenger Hunt and Activities here.

If you are a party of less than 10 people and don’t need a private tour, please join us on our daily free guided walking tour.

Fees

Special Group Tours are free for California schools (middle schools 6th grade and up, high schools, and community colleges); fees apply for all other special groups and private tours. The fee schedule is at the bottom of this page.
