Free guided walking tours for individuals and families
We offer free 90-minute walking tours of the campus seven days a week at 10am, rain or shine. Our expert guides are student ambassadors who know the university and student life. Applying to Berkeley? History buff? Nostalgic alum? A campus tour is perfect for you.
These walking tours are for individuals, families, and parties of up to 9 people. If you are a school group, organization, a party of 10 or more people, or you’re interested in a private tour for a fee, please visit the Special Group/Private Tour Page for more information.
Tours start at the Koret Visitor Center at 2227 Piedmont Avenue in the historic California Memorial Stadium. On Cal Football home game days (Saturday August 31, Saturday September 14, Friday September 27, Saturday November 9, and Saturday November 16), tours will instead start at the Campanile, the tall clock tower in the middle of campus. For tours on Homecoming Weekend (October 18-19), please visit the Homecoming website for information and times. Tours end near Sproul Plaza, an approximately 10 minute walk from the Visitor Center.

Campus tours are offered year-round, 7 days a week, and on most major holidays with the following exceptions:
- Thanksgiving Day
- Winter Break (Saturday, December 21, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020)
The online calendar includes several kinds of tours. Please review the name of the tour before reserving to ensure you are reserving the correct tour. Our calendar opens up about 3 months in advance. We are considering a change in our tour times, so we have not posted November 2019 tours yet. We appreciate your patience.
